 Technical Standard Orders

TSO
A Technical Standard Order (TSO) is a minimum performance standard issued by the Administrator for specified materials, parts, processes, and appliances used on civil aircraft. TSOs can be viewed by Current, Active Historical, or Canceled. Current TSOs are the approved FAA performance standard that the applicant must use to receive a TSO authorization. Active Historical TSOs are for previously approved TSO authorizations. Canceled TSOs are for reference only.

Note: The Aircraft Certification Service of the FAA maintains the "Aircraft Certification Draft Documents Open for Comment" website on the Internet at http://www.faa.gov/aircraft/draft_docs/. You are invited to comment on proposed Technical Standard Orders (TSOs) provided on the website. We will no longer publish these documents in the RGL or publish an individual Federal Register Notice for each proposed Technical Standard Order that the FAA makes available for public comment.

TSO Index of Articles
The TSO Index of Articles is a listing of authorized manufacturers and articles produced by the TSO Holder under a TSO authorization or letter of TSO Design Approval. The listing can be viewed by either the TSO Holder name or TSO number. These articles are eligible for use on the United States (US) Type Certificated Products. The TSO authorization or the letter of TSO Design Approval does not convey the installation approval.

Many of the part numbers may be listed in ways that make them difficult to locate. To find a particular part number, type in the SEARCH bar the numbers 1234-1-*. For a broader search, type in *1234-1- *
